Welcome!
The School of Natural Resources and Environment (SNRE) prepares students to understand the complex issues related to the environment and socio-economic stability, and to tackle the enormous challenges facing society in Florida, the region, and the world.
We are an academic unit within the University of Florida Institute of Food and Agricultural Sciences (IFAS) and College of Agricultural and Life Sciences (CALS), with responsibility for offering campus-wide interdisciplinary undergraduate and graduate programs in environmental science and ecology, respectively.
We offer Environmental Science B.S. and B.A. degrees and Interdisciplinary Ecology M.S. and Ph.D. degrees. Our student body includes over 140 graduate students and 200 undergraduate students. We also offer an online Interdisciplinary Ecology M.S. degree program for place-bound environmental sciences professionals.
SNRE builds on the University's existing strengths by encouraging select academic departments and other organizational units of the University to participate in SNRE's activities. Currently, more than 350 affiliate faculty from 50 academic departments and 35 UF Research Centers and Institutes in 12 academic colleges participate in the SNRE programs.
